AGM, Special Saturday event and 10000 page views!

First of all, the AGM took place on the 4th of May and was well attended. Some exciting stuff in the pipeline. Watch this space!

Secondly, if you were there today, good work! Its gonna be AMAZING! (if you didn't make it you won't know what I'm on about)

Thirdly, the club site has had 10000 page views since starting it in Feb. What do people think of the site? Has anybody got any ideas for stuff to put on it, does anything need changing? Let me know. The best way to let me know is to leave a comment on the site. In case anybody doesn't know how to do this I've put together a handy guide which you can find below. While you are at it why not "follow" the blog? The benefits of this are getting notified by email when new stuff goes up and all your friends thinking you are cooler. Theres also a guide explaining how to do this below.

Cornwall Tor 2012 Report

The Wiggle Cornwall Tor 2012 will go down in history as being one of the most uncomfortable, cold and wet cycling experiences ever! The event was really well organised etc but someone forgot to book in the the nice weather. It didn't start off too bad, bit cold and wet but nothing a rock hard mountain biker can't handle.

At the start - Raining a bit

A few miles in and mother nature had really picked up the pace and didn't calm down until well after we got back to the finish. By the time we had crawled our way to Delabole everyone was soaked, fed up with the 5000mph headwind and too cold to even eat a Twix properly!

The first food stop was at Tintagel, about 25 miles in. The weather in Tintagel was horrendous, the worst it had been yet. People were lying on stretchers in the cafes suffering from exposure and Hyperthermia.

We thought "balls to this" and got a bus back to Bodmin! We didn't even care that we were bailing half way. Just to make us feel like pansies the Dept.26 4X champion and all round fully loaded dangerous weapon, Lee Sampson, carried on and finished the full 76 mile course. What a champ! Mike Miller was on the start list but...

Few miles in - Raining quite a lot

Added beard for extra warmth - raining hard

The average speed gives the game away really! This will probably serve me right for doing roadie events!

Approaching Delabole - Freezing, gale force winds, raining very hard

Cafe in Tintagel - Not raining inside here but outside its raining the hardest it has so far.

Road riding makes you happy
