The next spot is Cardinham woods near Bodmin. Its an excellent blue graded trail with red options. One of my favourite trail centre type places. The video is by Jon Hopper from the clubs NYE ride.

The map shows the woods cafe where the trails start.

X-Fusion Enduro Series

Coming to a woods near you!

X-Fusion/Enduro 1 2014 Race Dates

We are sorry for the delay but we can now at last announce the 2014 series venues and dates!

Race 1 Forest of Dean 23rd March
Race 2 Haldon Forest 18th May
Race 3 Grogly Woods, Bodmin 20th July
Race 4 Great Wood, Quantocks 4/5th October

There are few changes for this year to the series and we are pleased to announce that we will now have electronic timing in place so we will be having podium awards presented at each race for the age categories and for those who complete the whole series the those awards will be presented at the last race as well. Although I have tried to keep the cost down of entry with manual timing it has proven far too problematic and so unfortunately the price has had to rise to £45 a race as I now need to absorb the cost of electronic timing which as you are aware is very expensive. It will, no doubt, make for a better series and with 5 stages and big courses it still represents excellent value for the money compared to others. Entries for race 1 will open Monday 13th January.

Individuals.

Timing set off is now every 30sec but we have tightened up the comp class criteria, as this is a self seeding race, to riders that are proficient on a mountain bike and capable of handling trail centre black runs. This is because the timings have dropped to every 30sec and there is now much more likely hood of people being caught up on the stage so keep it real guys when entering.

Sport class remains the same although it will be 30 sec intervals as well but it is there for fun and just for you to give racing a go with your mates. You will still get your electronic timing and placing for the class but you will have longer to get around the course if your fitness is not up to scratch.

As always you just need to let me know when entering if you want to ride alongside your friends. However, if you have a slow one in the comp class please ensure they are sandwiched between you and not left on the end for someone else to catch as we will move them if we find that is the case. We don't want to but the dampers on you riding with your friends but it is unfair to a racer if he has to keep getting past a slow rider on all 5 stages!

Teams.

Changes to the teams are that you can change as many riders as you want for each race if they are riding under the same team name. We will not be presenting such big prizes as before for the series winners as it is problematic as to who will receive them if the riders have changed throughout the year but you will have the honour of racing for the series cup!

Age categories Juniors/ UK Enduro Scholarship.

You can now enter at 16yrs but you must be 16yrs old by the first race you enter. Steve Parr and myself have now started the UK Enduro Scholarship programme and we will be looking at the 16yr old riders that enter our races and if we think they have what it takes we will invite them to attend a selection day to win a years scholarship of training and equipment. More details at: www.ukenduroscholarship.co.uk

New MTB Race Information Website.

One of our racers and some friends have set up a new information website for all forms of MTB racing and would invite anyone who organises racers to contact them and list their races for free. We should always support anything that is worthwhile and aids us mountain bikers so check them out at; www.pedalplanner.co.uk

Don't forget to support the excellent on line Enduro Magazine: enduro-mtb.com as they are doing a sterling job!

That's all folks and it just leaves me to say Happy New Year to you all and here's to a cracking 2014 of Enduro racing!
